1st Shift Associate - Warehouse

JOB SUMMARY: The 1st Shift Associate is responsible for ensuring quality of product(s) received, unloading and sorting purchased product(s) and maintaining assigned cooler and warehouse area by ensuring temperature is correct, product is rotated and cooler is clean, stocked and organized according to company standards.

  • Removes orders from incoming delivery trucks, reviews purchase orders for accuracy, documents dates on PO’s and integrates stock in accordance with company rotation & sanitation procedures
  • Reviews received items for quality and product expiration dates, notifies supervisor of any discrepancies. Seeks clarification and advice from supervisor when unsure of product condition or quality
  • Examines and inspects stock for defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Follows all handling and reporting procedures for Allergens
  • Prepare for new stock deliveries, cleans and organizes area in compliance with company procedures
  • Ensure cooler and product temperatures are correct
  • Assists with customer walk-ins, retrieves orders and loads purchases for customers in a professional and respectful manner
  • Use safe lifting, pushing, pulling & climbing skills at all times. Always wear non-slip protected toe shoes when in the warehouse. Only operate equipment you are trained and certified to operate.
  • Operate RF Scanners properly
  • Uses, cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with company sanitation and safety regulations
  • Attends warehouse meetings

 Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent will continuously stand, walk, stoop, lift 10-75 lbs., repeatedly bend, twist at the waist while rotating, operate hand and foot control and perform repetitive movement with wrists and hands applying gripping pressure.  Is frequently required to pull 500 lbs. 20 feet, reach, lift 34-50 lbs.  Will occasionally be required to balance, climb stairs and ladders, and carry 20 lbs. 40 feet. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of warehouse operations is preferred
  2. Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  4. Ability to read lists, manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using English.
  5. Possess or acquire valid forklift/pallet jack license.
  6. High School diploma or equivalent.
